According to news agency PTI, there is currently only one Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. Fadnavis, who is also in charge of the state home ministry, told the police high command that best quality work is expected within the stipulated time.

Fadnavis has also given assurance of police accommodation. He said there will be no shortage of funds from the government for police housing. Fadnavis said that discussions were also held to speed up the redevelopment project of the police residence in the Worli area of ​​Mumbai. He said that fifteen projects of new police stations and police houses are almost ready and 10 more will be ready in six months.

Tweeting about this, Fadnavis said that work is underway on 457 police housing projects across Maharashtra with 53,860 houses for police personnel. At the same time, 87 new police stations are planned in Maharashtra and 7 in Mumbai. He directed the officers to prioritize the work, start urgent projects, complete them quickly and then proceed in stages. The deputy CM said that wherever possible, a police residence should be built near the police station. The best utilization of the space should be kept in mind while preparing the plan.
