Congratulating Sunak on his appointment as prime minister, Prime Minister Modi stressed the need to further strengthen both countries. This is the first official conversation between Rishi Sunak and Prime Minister Modi since he took over the reins of Britain. After talking to Sunak, Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
Fiji will host the 12th International Hindi Conference, the first time it has been held in the Pacific region.
He wrote, “It was a pleasure talking to Rishi Sunak today. We congratulate him on his assumption of the office of Prime Minister of Great Britain. We will work together to further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership. We also agreed on the importance of reaching a comprehensive and balanced free trade agreement as soon as possible.

At the same time, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak tweeted thanking Prime Minister Modi. Sunak wrote: “I thanked Prime Minister Modi for the words he had to say about my new role. While the UK and India have much in common, I am pleased that our two great democracies will further strengthen their security, defense and economic partnership in the coming months and years.”
