Gold prices fell by Rs 146 to Rs 50,612 per 10 grams at the Delhi baron market on Monday due to a weak trend in precious metals in global markets and a correction in the value of the rupee. Due to this, gold had closed at Rs 50,758 per 10 grams in the previous trading session. Silver also fell by Rs 794 to Rs 57,305 per kg in the national capital.
According to HDFC Securities, gold traded lower at $1,641.8 an ounce in the international market, while silver traded lower at $19.08 an ounce. Dilip Parmar, research analyst, HDFC Securities, said: “Gold prices are on a downward trend and are in the longest monthly decline in a decade. The outlook for spot gold looks dim on rising US bond yields and a strengthening dollar index.

Rupee closed with a fall
The rupee rose 15 paise to 82.32 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday amid bleeding crude oil prices and a positive trend in domestic equity markets. But then it started falling and it closed down by 30 paise at 82.77 level. The rupee had closed 14 paise lower at 82.47 against the US dollar on Friday. There was also a slight drop in crude oil prices on the international market. WTI crude oil traded 1.62 percent lower at $86.48 a barrel. barrel, while Brent crude is down 1.24 percent at $94.58.
